We had a great and productive 12th season. Here are some of the things we were able to accomplish.
Part of our mission includes enriching communities in music appreciation through outreach programming. In accordance with our mission, season 12 was all about collaborating with other talented groups. In fact, our fall concert series was called just that - “Sound Collaboration” - a series where we joined forces with the FATA alumni, the Open World Learning Concert Choir led by our very own Alex Ferderer, and the Easter Lutheran Church choir. We then teamed up with the Advent Lutheran Church choir and the students at the St. Croix Lutheran academy for our “Sounds of the Season” concert series. We finished the season with the third annual installment of the popular “Made in Minnesota” series in collaboration with the Bethany Lutheran College concert choir and the Shattuck St. Mary’s Chamber Choir and Boys Choir.
In November we had the privilege of performing at the Minnesota ACDA (American Choral Directors Association) conference where Artistic Director Peter Durow was awarded the VocalEssence award for creative programming.
On March 6, as a result of a nationwide search, we got to open for Disney’s DCappella in Minneapolis. What a thrill and honor it was to participate in this phenomenal a cappella concert! #DCappella #TakeUsOnTour #Minneapolis
We sang for Mass at St. Olaf Catholic Church, where we are choir-in-residence, on November 11 and April 14, in collaboration with the Parish Choir. We always have a lovely time singing for Mass there and are grateful to St. Olaf for providing a residence for us.
In January and May, we did a series of recording sessions of our Sounds of the Season and Made in Minnesota programs. We are very excited about the results so far - look for a brand new release from us on November 7th!
We are looking forward to a vibrant and engaging 13th season! Lucky 13! #FATAsings
